A Journey Through Changing Worlds
Arusha: Your adventure begins in Arusha, a vibrant gateway city framed by Mount Meru and coffee plantations. Here you’ll enjoy a relaxed lodge stay and a full briefing before your climb begins.
Marangu Gate And Montane Forest: At the trailhead, you’ll enter a lush rainforest where blue monkeys, colobus monkeys, and colorful turacos thrive. The path winds through thick vegetation, offering a magical start to your journey.
Horombo And Moorlands: As you gain altitude, the forest gives way to heather and moorland landscapes. Surreal giant lobelias and groundsel plants dominate this fairy-tale setting, with sweeping views of Mawenzi and Kibo peaks.
Kibo And Alpine Desert: Crossing the vast saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo feels like walking on another planet. The stark, rocky alpine desert is dramatic, preparing you for the summit push.
Uhuru Peak: At 5,895m, Uhuru Peak is the ultimate prize—Africa’s highest point. Watch the sunrise over the glaciers and crater rim, a once-in-a-lifetime reward for your determination.
